John Horany is a Board Certified Personal Injury Trial Lawyer with more than 25 years of experience representing the unwitting victims of catastrophic personal injuries and wrongful death.

Born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, John is a native Texan and the son of a well-respected doctor. John earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University in 1983 and thereafter went to law school at SMU School of Law, where he graduated in 1986.

As a young associate, John practiced in the law offices of Windle Turley, P.C. During his time there, John served as the Chairman of the Medical Negligence Section. In 1995, he started a successful career as a solo practitioner, which he continues to this day under John K. Horany, P.C.

John has handled a wide array of personal injury cases throughout his career, including cases under the Federal Tort Claims Act, insurance subrogation, medical malpractice, automobile accidents, slip and fall injuries, nursing home negligence, funeral home cases, wrongful death from both medical malpractice and defective products, slander and libel actions involving former partners and spouses, and notably a First Amendment case involving the removal of books from a public library.

In addition to the work John does for his clients, he also gives back to the community by volunteering for Legal Hospice of Texas and participating in Bar None, the proceeds of which benefit the Sarah T. Hughes Scholarship at SMU Dedman School of Law. John has also served on the District 6A Grievance Committee for the State Bar of Texas and has been a Fellow of the State Bar College since 2003.

John draws on his many years of experience in the field of personal injury litigation and a deep knowledge of the law to zealously advocate for his clients. Indeed, he has dedicated his career to helping seriously injured victims and their families throughout the state of Texas.
