Deadly Motorcycle Wreck on Interstate 30

A police officer with the Balch Springs Police Department was killed early Sunday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle and fell 50 feet over a railing on Interstate 30.

The wreck happened at the Cesar Chavez Boulevard ramp heading eastbound on Interstate 30. Officials say Officer Matthew Garcia lost control when he failed to negotiate a curve and was ejected from his motorcycle.

Officer Garcia was not on duty at the time. His wife was following him in her car when she saw the accident happen.
