For over two decades, Tahira has represented sex crime victims and their families in civil cases against wrongdoers and the institutions that enable them. She has litigated many high profile clergy sexual abuse cases against the Catholic Church, Greek Orthodox Church, Baptist Church, Assemblies of God, Church of God in Christ, Episcopal Church and other denominations. Tahira has also represented survivors in cases against colleges and universities, private schools, boy scouts, group-homes, daycares and other youth-serving organizations. Further, Tahira has litigated cases against nursing homes, physicians and mental healthcare professionals for sexual exploitations of the patients in their care. Tahira has been appointed as a Special Prosecutor for the State of Texas in the criminal prosecution of pedophile priests and continues to assist State and Federal authorities in such cases.
Tahira is a member of the National Crime Victims Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, Dallas Women Lawyers Association, Texas Women Lawyers Association, and Dallas Asian American Bar Association. In 2015 Texas Lawyer recognized her in its Extraordinary Minorities in Texas Law issue and she was also recognized in 2019 by “D Magazine” Best Lawyers in Dallas-Trial Law.
