Portrayed by Alec Baldwin in the Peacock mini-series about Dr. Death, Dr. Robert Henderson is, in the real world, a gentleman and the kind of doctor you’d want taking care of you and your family. He was also instrumental in revealing the extent of Christopher Duntsch’s malpractice.
This episode looks at how a surgeon is made by tracing the ups and downs of Dr. Henderson’s career. In his practice, Dr. Henderson was called on to try to fix the damage Duntsch had done to Mary Efurd, one of his surgical victims. Dr. Henderson graphically describes the horror show he encountered during his first operation, trying to repair Ms. Efurd’s spine, which presented example after example of Christopher Duntsch’s incompetence and malpractice.
